Tony’s mother died of this very same cancer when he was 17. I don’t know if insurance companies ask you for family history or not.

I heard Britt Hume say that he was checked for this every 6 months for years. If he had to pass a physical to get the insurance it may have become an issue. personally I find it hard to believe that someone as intelligent and remarkable as Tony Snow would have been uninsured, but I guess you never know.

As far as I know, a physical exam is a requirement for obtaining life insurance. My former husband had applied for a policy and before the exam decided to drink birch beer instead of his usual alcohol at lunch. Had several glasses, went for the exam rich after lunch and the urinalysis showed high sugar! So he was stuck with diabetic rates even tho he wasn’t!

A warning to all who may find themselves in this situation! :)
