If you think it’s time to bury them, it’s really time to USE them.

It really frosts my butt when folks who consider themselves to be conservatives still defer to the government for permission to exercise a constitutional right.

Four words: "shall not be infringed". I do not think registration violates the second amendment. Getting registration though the fourth and fifth though could easily be problematic.
The Canadians proved that universal gun registration is a waste of time and money. If the authorities in DC would stop worrying about guns and start incarcerating criminals the city would be a lot safer.

***Simple solution: put on drivers licenses whether one is permitted to buy or own a gun.***

So brilliant it absolutely escapes the thought process of the DC government.

How ‘bout this? If you aren’t in prison or in the looney bin, you can buy a gun.

"I do not think registration violates the second amendment. " Do you think any guns were registered at the time of our nation's founding? Do you think that guns had serial numbers then?
The requirement for a serial number on a gun is no less an infringement of the right to keep and arms than would be requiring a serial number on a Bible or any other book would be an abridgement of freedom of speech or the press.
And without the required serial number, there is no practical way to register a firearm. It is the requirement for serial numbers that should be eliminated.
