LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Sanaa Lathan and Nia Long have come on board Fox's "Family Guy" spinoff "The Cleveland Show," which is scheduled for a midseason berth.
Lathan ("Raisin in the Sun") will voice a single mom and the love interest of Cleveland Brown (Mike Henry), the henpecked neighbor of the Griffins. Long ("Big Shots") will voice her rebellious teen daughter.

I used to think that show was funny a long while ago, but it is one of the most vulgar shows on TV and I can’t stand it.

I never quite “got” this show. Sometimes it seems satirical, but the humour seems so low-brow that it never fails to offend me, anyway.

Some of the humor is lame, but I watch normally just for the allusions to other shows and pop culture alone....that is pretty funny.

I am nothing like Family Guy! When I make jokes they are inherent to a story! Deep situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point, not just one random interchangable joke after another!

Wow! Did you know you’d get hit with so many Debby-downers all at once? LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE! This looks like it has some potential.

Family Guy is absolute crap. So is Futurama. The Simpsons has gone so far downhill it’s unwatchable dreck. But South Park rocks.

Its a stupid show, nothing clever about it. Nothing but cheap laughs. Its no Simpsons.South Park's "Cartoon Wars" ruined Family Guy for me...I've gone back and tried to watch FG, but South Park nailed it - it's a show where the jokes have nothing to do with the plot.

Hehehe. That was a brilliant episode. The tank full of manatees was brilliant.
South Park is brilliant, the Simpsons used to be. King of the Hill and Futurama were my personal faves.
Family Guy is so hit or miss, sometimes they're spot on -- other times, they're just offensive, and pointlessly so.
They push boundaries, but there's nothing behind it plot-wise -- its just offensiveness for offensiveness' sake.

Since I’m the mother of Bart and Lisa Simpson (living in deep cover under different names) I find the Simpsons pretty funny! The other shows are horrifying, filled with some really bad humor about sex.

Agreed. There is nothing about this show that is in any way useful, interesting or funny. It’s the most vulgar thing on TV. I thought it had promise in it’s first season but obvioulsy I was wrong.

Don't you ever, EVER compare me to Family Guy, you hear me Kyle? Compare me to Family Guy again and so help me, I will kill you where you stand! Do you have any idea what it's like? Everywhere I go: "Hey Cartman you must like Family Guy, right?" "Hey, your sense of humor reminds me of Family Guy, Cartman!" I am nothing like Family Guy! When I make jokes they are inherent to a story! Deep situational and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point, not just one random interchangeable joke after another! —Eric Cartman, Cartoon Wars Part I
Even Bart hates them:
Now American Dad, that's a good cartoon.

It’s early, we haven’t had our caffeine yet, but I’ve never been a fan either. The baby is the funniest part. I might watch if they gave him his own show, but I have to go with South Park on this one- random site gags that have nothing to do with the plot.
I’m starting to think there are South Park people and Family Guy people and never the twain shall meet.
