Sadly, this represents the left and Democrat Party today, with the rare exception of people like Joe Lieberman, who may get thrown out of their party.
It’s been this way forever. Reading the five volume Marshall biography of George Washington, the original GW, Washington had to deal with the same mindset during the Revolutionary War, prior and during, just as Abe Lincoln had similar problems with Democrats during the US Civil War.
