Another thing is the death of the republican form of government. Since the 17th Amendment, having a popular vote for the senate has removed a major feature of our government. And if the leftists get their way and do away with the electoral college, our government will officially be one of "mob rule." Except when the judges disagree.

I believe that if it were put to a popular vote right now the electoral college would be eliminated. I base this on the fact that I often hear someone ranting against the college but I almost never have heard anyone other than a conservative columnist defend it. I personally think we should keep the electoral college plus we should repeal the seventeenth amendment.
