“Eighty-three percent (83%) place a higher priority on encouraging immigrants to speak English... yet the politicians can’t seem t grasp this simple point.”
And everyone keeps voting in the two party’s that are not listening.

What I am finding is that even if you can speak Spanish very well.....there are still complaints!!
Case in point: I am involved in a Home Based Business and my business partner is Domincan....so obviously, he speaks Spanish. We also have an MD that speaks great Spanish in our upline. The Mexican people in our downline are complaining that neither of them speak 'MEXICAN' Spanish! Can you believe it?????
I just shake my head and wonder what is next....... :o

With comments this dumb already he may not even make it to the convention.”
The thing is, he makes dumb comments like this almost daily, yet “they” don’t care or seem to notice. Lots of koolaid been served out there, for quite some time. Still...he just may majorly f**k up yet. I haven’t given up hope.

“Most immigrants are not stupid - they come here because of a free economy, rule of law, and a stable and unified culture. The places they left dont have those things, and they dont want those qualities in the USA destroyed although some of our own Americans are doing their damnedest to do so.”
Put down the crack pipe. This illegal third world tidal wave is bringing a culture far different than ours. The wholesale corruption and crime that is committed and tolerated is something we Americans have never seen before.

Obama needs to run for office in Europe. Thats where his heart is. Thats where his socialist ideas fit best.”
Faith - you’re exactly right, he intends to turn us into a European “model”. The ironic thing is - more and more of Europe is now leaning our way, revamping much of their system into a more conservative, western one (because theirs have failed, not worked!)

anytime I encounter a US company that has press 1 for english, I immediately complain that this is the US and they should assume that most of their customers speak english, I am extremely offended that I have to select english, I say I understand that they also want to do business with customers that speak spanish and I have actually gotten several of them to change their voice prompt so that it is in english and then it says in spanish if you want spanish push 1
It doesn't really do much but it makes me feel better

Whats McCains position on English first?”
Interesting you ask, because there was a bill on the Senate floor awhile back about making English our official language, and JS McCain voted FOR it.

The Spanish language is different in many parts of the world. "Mexican" Spanish is in many cases VERY different.

And here’s the other amusing thing about his latest asinine speech on Americans needing to learn spanish - A) he cited primarily Europeans (not hispanics) for being multilingual when they come here, and B) he used the example of the most foreign language Americans can say is “Merci Beaucoup”.
Now......I thought he was talking about learning Spanish - not French. Duh. Oh, but I forgot, HE can’t speak Spanish, either.

It is time that Barack Obama line up with American values.
Nah.
Here's hoping he just lets his real inner-uber-liberal-socialist
come out loud-and-clear.
So he'll be electorally trounced in November.

then why is Juan dedicating an entire campaign website en espanol, mi amigo?”
Because he NEEDS that significant voting bloc. Why is BHO trying to court the evangelicals? Same reason.
It’s about winning - that’s politics with high stakes. If you’re not in it to win it, then why bother? McCain better be as single-minded, driven and focused as BHO.

What say you? about 83% of the immigrants I bump into prefer to speak English, even if they speak Spanish amongst themselves.

Interesting you ask, because there was a bill on the Senate floor awhile back about making English our official language, and JS McCain voted FOR it. Yet McCain dodged the vote last year on the EEOC budget bill that had English Only lawsuit blocking legislation embedded in it to protect U.S. employers requiring English Only in their workplace from being sued by the EEOC using EEOC funds. Just as the primaries were kicking into gear. How convenient.

On Brit's Special Report tonight there was a story about how Mexicans are leaving the US and returning to Mexico (boo hoo!) because they can't find jobs and don't like the anti-immigrant sentiment here. I was screaming from my kitchen—ADIOS!!!

Its about winning - thats politics with high stakes. In it to win it at any cost? Including turning the nation into a socialized 3rd world s*^thole? No thanks. It will happen in any event with these two, but not with my vote. McCain can go to hell.
