Thanks all, for the info. I always get a kick out of parts of the scientific community who doubted these theories when they first came out.
As one example of the theory, some pottery that exhibited signs of a reversal (evidently picked up the magnetic patterns when they were in the kiln) were offered as proof. The “scientists” claimed that the pottery was put in upside down.
Perhaps that was the origin of the phrase “Denial is not just a river in Africa.”
And, perhaps, we have an “interesting” future - mebbe the Mayans figured the poles would reverse Big Time (aka catastrophic) in 2012. :-)
