Here is what has happended:
Jackson is part of the old guard whose blood sweat and tears has allowed a possibility of a black man to be considered for president. Obama hasn’t experienced this. His father was Kenyan, and in the circles of some in the black community, Obama does not have “slave blood” in him.
Obama is speaking of family values and has encouraged black fathers to take responsibility of their out of wedlock children. Jackson doesn’t like it. He believes that Obama is talking down at him because HE has an out of wedlock child.
That’s the problem between a black candidate is is actually half kenyan, and half white (However, the half-white doesn’t really get discussed about. The focus is on his blackness and the historical nature of his candidacy) and the civil rights usurper Jackson. Good thing his own son came out furiously against his off-color statements. Probably a reflection of disgust with his father giving him a sister he knew nothing about until it broke the press.
