For better or for worse, they are all linked together. Ritchie Valens may have become a flash in the pan too.

Big Bopper was a DJ with a novelty hit who “got lucky”. That was what put him on the map (Chantilly Lace was actually supposed to be the B-side).

But I can’t think of another package tour where 3 artists all died in the same accident.

Even Gene Vincent survived the car crash with Eddie Cochran.
