It is not hard to see why and how the middle classes, the poor, and the union members would like to see larger government programs and greater taxes on the wealthy, but why are so many in the upper-upper middle classes so vehemently pro-Obama? Are they that confident in the public schools, teachers' unions, swearing off their archaic gasoline engines, wanting restrictions on free trade and globalization, and living in mixed, integrated working-class neighborhoods?
One paradox about the Obama campaign is that in terms of aggregate cash, most of his total donations are of the larger sort, and they tend to come from the informational, investment, and financial class that has done so well by globalization.
Which raises the question, since so many financial supporters are above the $100,000 income bracket and perhaps in terms of joint income, above the benchmark $250,000 level at which Obamonics begins to really hurt, why such lop-sided support from these elites? ...

They need Propitiation for their Sins.
Since they don't get it from Jesus, they are looking to the Messiah Obama to absolve them for their shortcomings.
Morre and more, I can see how the world will turn to The Man of Lies (anti-Christ), since they won't turn to God.
The need for absolution is still there, and they will seek out someone who they perceive has the Standing to give it to them.
Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus.
Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus.
Amen and amen.
Don’t get me started on Palo Alto types. I just spent four years living among them. Very NOT like the Massachusetts townies I came to like in Boston.
“On a related note, it’s amazing how metrosexualism is so encouraged on shows like this. As a guy, I like hanging out with guys’ guys. I don’t know how women would want to be with a man with the lines so blurred.”
For some reason, a certain segment of women want a man who is like a woman. And also who is convinced by her that his role is to serve her (socially and materially) in a one-way exchange. I don’t get it. I think they’ve bought the lie that men and women aren’t really different instead of celebrating the (ahem) diversity of the sexes.
Interesting that 'hoi polloi' does mean 'the many' so you are correct in stating that using 'the' in the title is redundant. However, it seems that over the years 'hoi polloi' has taken on a connotation of 'high and mighty'. In that context, THE hoi polloi would be fitting.
Interesting, too, that the term 'Hoidy Toidy' supposedly comes from the Scots-Irish settlers' way of pronouncing 'High Tiders' --- the elite peoples of the 18th century. Perhaps that is where the confusion is for many.
Just for fun we could really mash up language and say that hoi polloi means 'high chickens'. =o)
Unless he has more evidence than his own “confession”, this dog won’t hunt. For all we know, he may have been a Clinton plant who carried matters a bit too far, and couldn’t get any MSM cred since they were all in the tank for Hussein anyway. Do you suppose that he could have been the “campaign ending” surprise Clinton’s people kept hinting about?
CNBC is airing an interesting discussion of the new super-rich in the USA. One point - it is very broad. There is SO much money around these days. About 30,000 individuals are worth between $50 and %500 million dollars.
