A 17-year-old South Carolina boy on an church outing was killed Saturday when he was struck by the popular "Batman the Ride" at Six Flags Over Georgia. It was the second Batman ride-related death at the Cobb County park.

He made a huge mistake and his family is grieving. I was only going 115 MPH on country roads at that age and even ended up in a cornfield during a race. I don’t see alot of difference. Some heart for the family would be fine.
Well I'm certainly not liking your definition of it.....you are saying "Hey, it's totally cool to be very stupid!"
In fact, if you are not already, I'd say you have the makings to be a great lawyer!
Please tell me when "Society" became responsibe for your - or anyone's - "well being".....???? That, my friend, is socialist mentality.
I have a sign on my front door, "This property is protected by Smith and Wesson."
You would be the type that wants to rob me, then sue me after the .357 ventilates the area where a brain should be.
Some people are just too stupid, why do you have a problem with that?
Please, tell me right now.....you would have climed over the two fences.....??? You would have ignored the warning signs.....??? This is all about personal responsibility....nothing else!
The idiot kid learned a LEE type lesson, didn't he?
Again, I hope the company sue's the living sh!t out of the parents - loss of revenue from the ride, pain and suffering from the mess this idiot caused, what ever.
You can't fix stupid.
Correction: Mother Nature can fix stupid.
You get removed from the gene pool.
Shoot Me, Then wake up after your drunkin’ rant and put 5 on the table for me at Palace Station. (I’m sure that’s your favorite) :^)
I have seen enough dead people to realize that yes, some do need to be laughed at.
Rodger that.
"Granted he was trapped and got killed by his stupidity, FR is no place to say we wouldnt have been different. (No I wouldnt have done it, but I think this thread should go away.)" No, liberal brain, he was not "trapped"
This moron worked his ass off to put himself into the position to get his head taken off.
What don't you understand about that?
Go back and read what the moron did.
Rest assured that any FReeper would grasp the concept of the, "You gonna get f**ked up if you go in here!" signs.
You are on the wrong web site........
At this web site, we acknowledge "personal responsibility" as a way of life.
When you get a grip on that concept, get back to me.
Until then, STFU!
Prayers up for your son.
I suppose now is as good a time as any to say that I didn't cry at Ole Yeller. I mean...I did the first couple times but after the 150th time, I was like, "Just shoot the d@mn dog, already!" Worst summer babysitting job ever. All the kid wanted to do was watch Ole Yeller and Jaws.
I’m not trying to flame you, I just don’t quite get the attitude.
I think there are degrees of sympathy, maybe?
I feel sorrier for a baby like yours suffering and dying than perhaps a young man who wanders into a restricted zone.
But I do feel sorry for both. Basically because I think I have been just as stupid at certain points. To be honest, I think you probably have been, also. If you think about it. Maybe not, I can’t know for sure, obviously.
I’ve narrowed it down to the fact that he was a “church kid” on a “church trip.” Somehow, that makes his case different. Personally, I hope St. Peter asks him what the heck he was thinking when he arrives. “He coulda been a contenda!”
Allow me to explain briefly what I meant by “grace of God.”
First of all, I have had three sons survive past the age of 13, by the grace of God. Does that mean God loves my sons more than yours? Absolutely not.
It means that I acknowledge that we are created and sustained by a living God. It means I know it is not because of our own strength or “luck” that we are alive.
I do not “blame God” for the deaths of people. I acknowledge His sovereignty. As Job said, “The LORD gives, the LORD taketh away, blessed be the name of the LORD.” As you read the story of Job, you learn that God, indeed, allowed all of Job’s sons and daughters-in-law to die. Not because He murders them. God can’t murder anyone. He created us, He takes us home. I don’t believe it is done with any hatred.
I don’t believe God surveys the world and seeks out who he may snuff out. Ecclesiastes says there is a time to be born, and a time to die. It is hard, very hard. Sin and death entered the world at Adam’s fall. It is agony for us, but. . .
I trust your beloved son is in His hands. Today we see through a glass, darkly, but there will come a day when we will see clearly all of His purposes to us. After all, He could have left us just dead and hell bound. Instead, He offered up His own son to suffer and die that we might live. That is indeed a loving God.
In our society, even boorish people have rights. I am not joining with their thoughts, just the right to say it!
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The only movie that ever caused me to "almost" cry was The Champ.
Worst summer babysitting job ever. All the kid wanted to do was watch Ole Yeller and Jaws.
Must have been pre-iPod days. ;~)
"It's unfortunate the fences weren't high enough that these young boys couldn't get over them"....
Lawsuits acomin'....
..fences weren't high enough.
Wow, so sorry for what you are going through. I could not imagine.
A little concertina wire on top one of those fences would have worked quite well.
A mistake is when you dial a wrong number. He purposefully did a stupid thing. It’s important that we remember that.
That’s why you put it on the “inside fence”. This was a two fence system you know.
