I WISH Barack Obama were a Muslim. Better that than having supercilious staffers whisk women in Islamic head scarves out of photo-ops. Better that than telling Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the nation's first Muslim congressman, not to come help Obama in Iowa and North Carolina. Better that than wooing red states by wobbling before the modern equivalent of the Red Scare. In his year-and-a-half-long run for president, Obama has visited churches and synagogues, but no mosque. This has the musty feel of light-skinned African-Americans passing for white, paranoid over daylight visits from dark-skinned relatives.

NEW YORK: It’s unusual. But, it’s a fact. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic party’s presidential nominee, is seeking the blessings of Hanuman in his battle for the White House.
The 46-year-old senator from Illinois, who defeated his rival Hillary Clinton in an epic 17-month long electoral battle for Democratic party nomination, carries a “tiny monkey god” apparently representing “Hanuman” with him for good luck.
A recent photo posted on Time’s White House Photo of the Day collection shows the first ever Black-American nominee of a major US party for the Presidential elections carries with him a bracelet belonging to an American soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler’s lucky chit, a tiny monkey god and tiny Madonna and child.
That “tiny monkey god,” of course, appears to be a statue of the Hindu monkey god, Hanuman, says the posting but editors and the photographer has not identified it as such.
Obama, whose father was a Kenyan and mother a white woman from Kansas, spent initial days of his life in Indonesia where Hinduism is a popular religion.

With Marxism, Obama can appeal to Chinese and Russians alike. The Madonna and child gets the Catholics. Hanuman gets the Indian vote. His name and promise in one of his books gets the Muslim vote. Who’s left?

The wording in that prayer is very definitive and many Islamics believe that to recite it, makes you one of them.
Obama's professed church and religious ideology, Black Liberation Theology, is about as close to the Islamic view of Christ as you can find and not call it Muslim.
Beyond all of that, he is clearly an abject Marxist ideolog and needs to be defeated, and defeated soundly.
maybe what this two politicians need to do is start talking to all of us as Americans and pointing that out and not kowtowing to individual ethnic and racial groups.

I like the way the Boston Globe chose a rep from The Muslim American Society to make statements.

I wonder if if Obama started carrying Hanuman after George Allan’s Macaca (sp?) screw up? I wonder if O is asking Hanuman to lure McCain into a similar faux pas?

Obama will not get the majority of the Indian vote just because he carries a Hanuman idol. I am a proud American of Indian origin and also a Hindu. Obama is an extreme radical leftist and there is nothing he says that I agree with. Even mainstream democrats (which most Indians are) will not vote for Obama because he is too far to the left. The Indian population in America is highly educated and prosperous and can see through Obama’s destructive economic policies and dangerous instincts in every key issue.
His carrying of a Hanuman idol has no impact on me and most “indians” who look at the issues. Hillary would have got the majority of the Indian vote but Obama will not, trust me.
The more important question is if McCain will get our votes. I for one can’t bring myself to vote for him and since I live in the communist state of MA I can truly vote my conscience without having any impact on the results !
