And as long as you can distinguish between what those laws are and what they are not, you will be fine.

Unfortunately, many Christians have placed the word of men above the Bible without realizing that the laws of the universe do not invalidate anything claimed by the traditional interpretation of the Bible.

Establishing what those laws are is the task of science. Anyone who can take high school chemistry and physics and not be awed by these laws is not paying attention.

It depends what you mean by traditional interpretation. I believe everything in the Bible, but not as literally as some.

When Shakespeare abandons strict iambic pentameter emphasis, you know he is saying something important. Similar with the Bible: When the story seems at first to contradict common sense, that's where the important truths are, difficult to accept when stated baldly. Those are the passages full of mystery that can be read again and again with growing insight.
