I do not understand why this ever came up. None of the other of the Big Ten are ever questioned as to whether they are individual or collective rights. Since the founding fathers were so concerned about any possible future manipulation of Number 2 they placed special verbage in there to clarify it. “...shall not be infringed.” That is pretty simple for most level headed people. The big however comes when you are an arogant, elitist, liberal, dim-o-crap, communist, socialist and want to ultimately exercise total control over both my money and my very existence. I must restate that which has been said before.....I cannot trust any government which refuses to trust me with my guns.

Government already has control of the 1st. They want total control of the 2nd because it is the most dangerous to them personally.

None of the other of the Big Ten are ever questioned as to whether they are individual or collective rights. On the contrary; read the minority opinion. In an attempt to refute the "People" (same phrase used in the the first and second amendment) argument, he asserts that First amendment rights (such as the right to petition government) are collective as well. He is clearly a villain.
Fortunately, it is now an established fact of American constitutional law that "JUSTICE STEVENS is dead wrong".
