IN retrospect, it doesn’t seem to be in tune with the discussion. It was just something on my mind, that here we have an example of a court considering undue pressure on a 16-year-old making a decision, but when it comes to abortion we assume that a 16-year-old had no pressure at all, and simply do whatever she asks (unless she asks to keep her child, then we “counsel” her to change her mind).

At the time I posted, nobody had posted anything else about the story, and I thought it might be a more interesting way to frame the conversation to be about whether a 16-year-old should be allowed to choose her attorney, or not.

That would have been a more interesting discussion than what ensued in it’s place.
