Junteenth happened in TEXAS. I don’t understand Blacks in other states celebrating it. They’re trying to make it a national holiday. Ridiculous!!!

The Declaration of Independence happened in PENNSYLVANIA. I don't understand Whites in other states celebrating it...

I’m sure you really understand the difference and are just messin’ with us, right?

What happened in Pennsylvania didn’t stay in Pennsylvania. It affected everyone in every colony.

What happened on the original Juneteenth in Galveston was specific to Texas slaves, not folks in other states. It has been a rather odd but interesting Texas black holiday ever since. Why other states would adopt it, other than ill-conceived efforts to be “diverse,” is beyond me.

It’s a little bit like your family celebrating your neighbor’s birthday with a party, while he’s having his own party at his own house. Kind of like you’re jealous and want to be included, but didn’t get invited.
