It may not be known to many in U.S., but these days, Jackie Chan is a cheerleader for Chinese communist regime. The regime courted and groomed him to be their promoter. Apparently, he believes that he is doing what 'patriotic Chinese' should do.

It certainly isn’t well known here! I had NO IDEA. Jackie Chan a ChiCom — I guess it’s the last time his DVDs play at my place.

(Just dam’n! And I really *like* chop-socky movies! I guess there’s always Bruce Lee.)

Big news here about Jackie...Chen Long in Chinese. He saw through the BS Chen Shui-bian “assassination” attempt and spoke his mind. The DPP loyalists cranked up the propaganda machine and black-balled him. Unfortunately for them he is too well loved for his movies here to make much difference.

Glad to see him back visiting the island.

I will not hold this against Jackie Chan. Being a huge star, he probably has to have certain politics for business reasons in that dictatorship. He has to be able to work in Hong Kong and mainland China, not Taiwan. This incident also has to do with some kind of accusation he once made against a Taiwanese president.

Jackie Chan is long past his prime now, but some of his early movies like Drunken Master and Police Story really are classic.

Proof, please. Unlike too many others here who blindly swallow a single, unsubstantiated post..I prefer factual proof. Thank you.
