The newest garbage being spewed about TGO on the DCRTV.org Mailbag —
According to Media Matters, during the June 4 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show, Mark Levin falsely asserted that Sen. Barack Obama “lied to” the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) when he “told them today that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards should be designated a terrorist group after voting against a bill designating them a terrorist group a year ago.” In fact, Obama has consistently supported designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, having co-sponsored a bill in 2007 to do that. Obama said he would have voted against the bill Levin referenced — the Kyl-Lieberman resolution — because it “states that our military presence in Iraq should be used to counter Iran,” not because the resolution expressed the sense of the Senate that “the United States should designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a foreign terrorist organization.” Can someone at WMAL get word to Mr. Levin that he misunderstood situation so Mr. Levin can appoligize to his audience for misleading them. George Will wrote in Time magazine that the Chinese are drilling for oil 60 miles of our shores in leased Cuban waters. Vice President Cheney repeated this talking point several times. Both Sean Hammity, on his “Stop the Liberal Obama Express” program, and Mark (I hate the mainstream media including Tim, Pillsbury doughboy, Russert, on Meet the Depressed), Levin have repeated this factoid, practically daily. The problem is, it is not true. Time ran a correction after learning that the Cubans were leasing some water, but not to the Chinese. Can somebody over at WMAL please Tell Mr. Levin to stop stating this nonsense and scare tactic as a fact, and get word up to Hammity that it is misinformation? I used this board to report Fred’s misuse of the word “effete,” (he was combining effeminate and elite to come up with “effete,” but “effete” means something completely different), and he hasn’t used it since. I am hoping somebody at WMAL will read this and get word to Mr. Levin and Mr. Hammity on the abuse of the facts, so they can go on their respective shows and set the record straight-like the liberal Time magazine has already done.
