Obviously, I don't know California very well, although I just returned from spending a week out there with my daughter and her family. I saw the name of the paper, and just assumed it was San Fransisco.....sure happy that I don't have to live out there, though LOL!
I'll be thinking about this poor baby and wondering who he belonged to for a long time. God rest his little soul.

Bad things can and do happen anywhere nowadays. We see that daily.
Of course this this particular crime occurred in California, on a dusty, rural road, lined by crops. But hey, it's a great opportunity for some to attack the entire state, and point fingers at everyone except the dead child killer.

Unfortunately the Central Valley is home to a lot of meth labs and is on the main drug smuggling line from Mexico to points north and east. I personally suspect meth because the labs are frequently in those out-of-the-way places like this nightmare happened. (OTOH, a few years ago my upper middle-class exurban neighbor in our town just forty miles north of Turlock was arrested for running a meth lab out of her garage.)
