agreed...
is McCain really wrong in claiming the Iraq war was mismanaged??? I don’t think so...had we not played prevent defense for three years this would’ve been over long ago...
Nominating a Democrat tool like McCain was falling into the media’s trap. It was the only chance they had to get their fella elected.
He chose to mention drilling for oil only in the places where the states will not allow it. A couple days ago he mentioned drilling in Alaska as kin to drilling the Grand Canyon.
Bull. Live in your dream world. We are not the majority anymore. I think McCain is the ONLY Republican who could beat Obama...just because of the fact he’s a liberal Republican. The last two years of elections backs me up, not you. The only Republican who could have won this year is a Republican that moderate Dems could feel ok to vote for. And there you have Johnny. Give me ONE example why you think a conservative could have won this election cycle. JUST ONE.
The problem is this is a conservative board and neither party nominated one. Of course we are going express our dismay. We have a choice of Liberal and more Liberal. What's to support in that?
Aha! True colors are showing.
So you think just sitting on a computer and complaining all day is the way to go? Don’t you think that’s partly how we got into this terrible mess?
The trouble is that if we get a McCain with a Dim House and Senate, we'll not see another Republican elected in our lifetimes.
If you got that out of the context of the statement, I am greatly surprised you are not pushing Obama. That seems to be the refuge of those that hear what they want to hear in this election cycle.
In that case, there is no use voting for the Republicans any longer as they have become what I voted against these decades.
McCain won the primaries with cross-over voters. If, as had been the case 20 years ago, the primaries were reserved for Republican Party members, Thompson and Huckabee would have duked it out early, and Thompson would be up against the Dims now. Romney was another that got much of his strength from people who would support him in the primary, but will not vote for him in November.
As for me, I’ll continue to donate to and work for Conservatives - no matter their party affiliation. With the exception of my RINO Senator, who I promised to support if he supported some key things, and he did.
It doesn’t much matter which of the Dims I would vote for here in Tennessee. The area has the same feel as Clingon-Dole. McCain is going to lose here badly.
Who voted for him in the primaries? People voted in the primaries...and after everyone hears Barack Obama in the next five months, conservatives will bite the bullet and vote for McCain, especially if he chooses a Conservative VP. So just keep venting...
Such drama queens...
Excellent!
Yeah - it was. I had learned of Hunter on FR and made a point to watch the debate, and got my wife to pull her head out of a book for the (brief) times that Hunter spoke.
He said that line and she said “We need to donate to this guy”. She is about as apolitical as one can get - but knows the truth when it is spoken. Too bad our small donations didn’t help much. However, he did get some things out on the debate floor that are still being discussed - illegal immigration for one.
-— Curious, on this thread you have complained about the Libertarians, the GOP and McCain.
Do you ever attack the Left on anything or is sniping your own side in the back all you do? ——
The republicans gave us McCain. Because of this, we’re going to see Hussein Obama get elected. That makes me mad as hell.
It’s the republicans fault of acting so incompetent. I didn’t abandon the party, it left me. I’ve tried to pull for McCain but it’s clear to me that he’s not going anywhere. In fact, he’s one of the many reasons the party has failed over the last 8 years.
Obama will get elected. You’re damn straight that I am blaming the republican party for allowing someone as liberal as Hussein Obama to get elected.
A vote for Barr is a vote for the libertarian/constitutional principles that once were the fundamental beliefs of the GOP.
yes, I understand and agree with your beliefs - I’m just stating the reality that Barr (as well as Paul) could well divide the votes enough w/McCain that it will assure b. hussein obama the needed majority to win. YES, we’re not at ALL crazy about McCain - but do you know Obama well enough to see that he’s even worse for the country - he’s a truly dangerous person about whom the public’s only learning the tip of the iceberg thus far. I don’t have a particular death wish, and if we don’t live to fight another day, we can do no good, accomplish nothing. Conservatism is not dead and WILL come back. I think it stands a better chance of doing that from suffering a McCain administration (likely only a 4 year one) than the fatal disaster of an Obama one that will seal the fate of America, and I’m not exaggerating in the least.
“A vote for McCain or Obama is a vote for statism, as both fundamentally agree on nearly every issue debated.”
They don’t agree on taxes, they don’t agree on health care, they don’t agree on right to life (not by a long shot), they don’t agree on Foreign Policy and they don’t agree on patriotism and love for this country.
