The overriding goal of the left is the destruction of Western Civilization. Leftists will support any powerful force that attacks the West and its traditional culture. The fact that those forces sometimes disagree on things doesn't matter to them. Feminism and uncloseted homosexuality weaken the West. Islam weakens the West. As such, the left will support both. They'll worry later, after the West has been brought down, about any conflicts between Islam and secular leftism.
A good example of this is the appalling film V For Vendetta. It glorifies both Islam and homosexuality, and even features a homosexual character who cherishes a copy of the Koran, waxing poetically about its beauty and grace. The entire film is designed to program its viewers to hate Western Civilization and to identify with anyone at war with the West, whether homosexual, feminist, illegal alien, terrorist, Muslim, or whatever. Any conflicts between these anti-West factions are glossed over in favor of the overriding goal of bringing down our civilization.
Wow. That's very profound and probably quite true. I've also noticed that anti-"gay," anti-feminist conservatives will bash moslems for being anti-"gay" and anti-feminist.
I'm a little disoriented by the whole business because I'm not a "civilizationist." Morality for me is not about identifying with any one culture/civilization/ethnicity but about submitting to the laws of the objective Creator of the entire universe.
