Is it Possible that California Could Go for McCain?

Is it possible that California could go for a Republican for the first time since 1988? One of the cable news networks reported last night that McCain had come within a few percentage points of B. Hussein Obama in CA.

What could make this happen?

#1. The referendum on the ballot that would reverse the State Supreme Court Ruling on same-sex marriage. This will bring Conservatives out in droves. (Hopefully out of their hatred for McCain they won’t vote for B. Hussein Obama.)

#2. The craziness that keeps going on in B. Hussein's church. I've got to believe that the majority of Californians are not crazy enough to align their politicl ideology with those nuts; the latest being Fr. Pfleger. Like most other Americans, the majority of Californians have got to realize that B. Hussein is the product of 20 years of indoctrination by preachers who hate White people.

#3. The fact that many Californians who would vote Democratic believe that B. Hussein is a closet Muslim who would be sympathetic to Islamo-Fascists; his autobiography indicates as much.
SIDE BAR: If, God forbid, there is another Terrorist Attack on our soil before November 4, Cindy McCain can start measuring for drapes in the White House.

#4. The large Hispanic vote in CA. There is a wide gulf between the Mexicans and the Blacks in America. They just don’t like or trust each other. The only thing that might offset this would be if Bill Richardson is on the ticket in the VEEP spot. And...

#5. There's a lot of ticked-off, Hillary-supporting, women out there who, if they just stay home, along with many men who feel that Hillary has been dissed by the media and the Obama Campaign, can give McCain a 5% point gain.

Hey, it could happen!

He’s certainly enough of a liberal for Cali that’s for sure.

Only if McCain turns out to be a much stronger campaigner than he appears to be at this point. That coupled with some McGovern-style gaffes (i.e., going to Hanoi and begging on his knees for the release of the POWs) might do it. But rather unlikely. The left coast is solid Ratland.

Shhh! Don’t let the Dems hear this. They might decide to oust Obama in favor of Hillary.

McCain has an outside chance of taking California. If he did it would mean a McCain victory in November.

But...

I've got to believe that the majority of Californians are not crazy enough to align their political ideology with those nuts

I think you underestimate the level of dementia in this state. Too many people have smoked pot for too many years. They either are paying no attention to the Trinity Church story or actually think it is "cool"

The racist voters will come out strong for Obama as they have across America during the primaries. The Marxist voters (which includes many Hispanics) will come out strong for Obama.

I don’t think it’s possible, but I am glad to pretend that it is, if that will prompt Obama to blow more of his wad in CA.

Susan Sarandon vows move to Italy or Canada if McCain elected...

And the promised flight of anti-republicans begins for the new campaign season. I wonder if this one will actually leave, since all those who vowed to depart if Bush won decided living here under his presidency was better that leaving as they promised to do.

Does the author know the difference between possibility vs. probability. For instance, it is possible I can win the lottery today, but is it probable.

This is why in Criminal Court cases you hear Probability vs. Possibility. Any thing is possible, but Probable I would say not.

McCain is going to get beat like a red haired step child in Kalifornia. They are in LOVE with Barack. The cities will turn out for him droves. I see you live in Texas. I lived in Kalifornia most of my adult life. They have turned on the Clinton's and now Barry is the savior. The rural areas will probably go McCain but any city bigger than 10,000 Barry will carry - except maybe Fresno.

I think, barring any huge mistake by the Republicans, mccain will win in a landslide. The shine is already off Obama. So many young people who turned out in the primaries, won't in the general. And now that we've hear that Susan Sarandon will leave the country should McCain win...even Conservatives will turn up to vote McCain! All we need is Sean Penn to repeat that promise, and we're in the clear!!!! :)

I have to take back all I said about Rush.. his strategy was brilliant...just brilliant....

We seem to be on opposite sides of the spectrum on this. The Jewish vote in CA is big...McCain gives them a viable alternative. You wait and see.
