...I love this kind of stuff...I wonder though if they are true stone age people but rather peoples who have chosen to live in isolation with a few “modern conveniences”.....things like machetes, axes and iron pots for example...stuff they’ve traded from other bands that have had contact with the outside...if you’d like to see an interesting movie about early 1950s missionary contact in the Amazon basin check out:

I can’t help but think of that Far Side cartoon, with the tribe trying to hide their TVs and VCRs as one member yells, “The anthropologists are coming!”

Wasn’t there a similar story after the tsunami in Phucket where a rescue helicopter came across some remote never seen before tribe near Indonesia? The helicopter moved in closer to see if these people needed help and they were met with arrows. The rescuers decided pretty quickly that these people didn’t need rescuing after all.

Man, I hope religious zealots of all persuasions stay away from them. Leave them alone. Bump to that. And not just religious zealots...obviously they WANT to be alone. I think they should be, period.

This is probably how most of us will be living after all the global warming taxes. Of course Al Gore and the Hollywood leftists will still be living in mansions, flying in private jets and driving SUVs.

"What is happening in this region is a monumental crime against the natural world, the tribes, the fauna and is further testimony to the complete irrationality with which we, the 'civilized' ones, treat the world," Jose Carlos Meirelles was quoted as saying in a statement by the Survival International group. This just sets me off when I see liberal tripe like this. No the fact is that we are civilized and they are still savages. All cultures are not equal.

Of more than 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, more than half live in either Brazil or Peru, Survival International says. It says all are in grave danger of being forced off their land, killed and ravaged by new diseases. A danger faced by all cultures. Not all have survived. Actually, most haven't.
