Are you ready for Vice President Sarah Palin?

Via the Standard, Wizbang’s got a hot tip that the head of McCain’s VP search team is on the ground in Juneau. If it’s true, though, then why not advertise that fact? It’d kick up some buzz … although maybe that’s the problem. If they finally end up going with some more predictable choice, like Ridge or Mitt, it’ll feel like a letdown.

Too many kids. The MSM would be all over her.

I’m not sure who McCain is going to pick but I’m fairly certain about who he isn’t going to pick. He isn’t going to pick any of the also rans. He isn’t going to pick Lieberman or someone who is more moderate than him. He isn’t going to pick Crist, Jindle, or that Palawennty guy. So who does that leave? It leaves him to pick someone who is believable as a replacement and Presidential candidate, he will pick a conservative that I’m sure of.

What I’d recommend is that he pick someone with unquestionable oratory skills. McCain needs someone who can make his message more coherent and focused and who can package it so that it doesn’t produce a gag reflex in conservatives. He should take up the banner of practical small government conservatism and take a message to the people that states that America’s best days are ahead because of the strength of its citizens not the size of its government.

McCain needs someone to run with him that will take away some of the contrarian edge. Someone that does not just fill the slot but also adds a bit of spice to the mix. Will he find that person?

As for Obama I’m fairly certain he is going to choose Bill Richardson. I may be wrong but I think he represents the best fit and contrast for Obama. Obama needs someone who takes off his ultra-liberal edge and has gravitas (don’t you just hate that word?). lol

I beleive she is an absolute winner, IF she agrees....

more like George Patton...That would be Sarah. ;-). Never underestimate her. McCain is against oil expoloration in ANWR; my bet is that she would advocate for exploration and drilling in the 'wildlife refuge' (another story altogether) to get us on the road to energy security.

Someone on another post said she was a lackluster speaker and campaigner. However, she is obviously someone to watch, with lots of time to develop. She captures the imagination of a country looking for leaders who are still outsiders.

I’m certain that the country could do much worse than someone like her.

Politically this would be a smart move. A lot of moderate Hillary supporters will vote for McLame if there is a woman on his ticket.

Too many kids. The MSM would be all over her.

If the MSM (and the Dems) were to give Palin grief because she has "too many children" or should stay home and take care of the kids, the hypocrisy would be so blatant that many "feminists" would reconsider their party choice.

Just let the Left play that card.

She should run for president and give McCain the VP slot.

Why on earth would you want to ruin Bobby Jindal’s political career? He’s pretty good ... for a Republican.

Remember what happened to Jack Kemp after teaming up with Bob Dole?

The MSM would be all over her.

The media would suddenly decide that she really should be a stay-at-home mom.

Enviros hate her (She wears fur and thinks the polar bear ruling was bs)

“Palin points out that the population of polar bears has increased over the last thirty years, and that Alaska already has protections for the polar bear under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. She also fears that the new regulation could potentially stifle the development of Alaska’s vast oil and gas resources, which is a priority in her administration.”

Pro-life. Learned 4 months into pregnancy her unborn baby had down syndrome.

Took on corrupt pubs in Alaska.

May 2008 poll showed her approval ratings in the mid 80s, the highest of any elected official in American politics.

I think she would be horrible. She just had a special needs kid who is going to need her full attention.

There are other well qualified people that can be vice president, but only one person to be her children’s mom.

“Are you ready for Vice President Sarah Palin?”

She is a little green politically speaking but she appears to be conservative enough. I would vote for her. If that old backstabber has to be on the ticket as well, so be it.

Get real... Let's be like the libs... take our victories... where ever we can.. consolidate.. then move on..

Sarah Palin is my choice for VEEP. If he picks the pro-abortion Ridge or Romney, I won’t feel so bad when McCain gets his butt handed to him on November 4 like the GOP Congress had happen to them in ‘06.
