Of course that’s not the answer. I’m not excusing her behavior, I agree she should be canned. But there is usually another side to the story....or do you just discount that because it wasn’t in the headline?

No, I think a teacher who can’t handle a 5 year old needs to be canned regardless. Whatever his problems, verbally abusing him is not the problem. Correction, teaching, discipline are the answer. Verbal abuse only creates larger problems.
So yes I’d fire her after having my wife kick her butt. Then I’d go talk to the principal and school board to find out why they allowed the situation to develop and such a teacher to be employed.
