It should be fairly straightforward to ascertain whether Obama’s uncle served in a unit that was ever anywhere near any of these places during the Liberation.
Somehow I doubt it.
After all, he wouldn’t be the first veteran to embellish his service record — that is, of course, unless his nephew is embellishing it for him.
Anyone game to check this out?
(politicians are so dumb! They think nobody can find out about their lies, and that nobody will check. They haven’t heard of the Internet yet, obviously: AlGore hasn’t told them about his invention good enough!)
It’s possible that Obama had an ancestor in the Red Army. Or maybe just a spiritual advisor.
Does Obama even HAVE an uncle? It must be another child of the grandparents that he threw under the bus --

Any mention of his uncle’s unit? Be interesting to see what experience he really did have in the ETO.
I do know that black troops ended up in graves registration so it’s not unlikely that a black soldier would come home in sorry shape. Just not as a liberator of Auschwitz.
Obama’s mom was an only child, his father was in Kenya and they didn’t fight in WW2 in Europe at least.
Maybe Obama will raise the reality of the Holocaust in his talks with Ahmadinejad! /s

It also demonstrates why it’s important not to appease Jew-hating dictators. Perhaps if the West hadn’t done that, there wouldn’t have been an Auschwitz. This is, of course, a lesson which Obama is incapable of drawing.

All of Obama’s black relatives are from Kenya. He was talking about his white uncle.

Obama just might be a creation of the writers of West Wing and David Axelrod. There was a piece in the WaPo on Sunday (written by Peter Funt of Candid Camera, ironically enough) about Elie Attie (Gore speechwriter and WW staff writer) and Axelrod in 2004 exploring for over a year the development of a black or Hispanic character to be a winning presidential candidate in the series. Axelrod proposed Obama as a model for the character.
The question now is: to what extent is Obama now packaged as a West Wing character?
The real Obama does not exist. We learned that from his book. The man is a talking identity crisis— a stew of sentimental politically- inspired vignettes and platitudes that he reads from a teleprompter.
However, his wife, the Reverend and the terrorists are real.
This must be the source of the “crazy uncle in the attic” line he used about Wright.

I met his uncle from Kenya at the Supreme Court in 2005. He was too young to have served during World War II.
