BRANDON, S.D. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton defended staying in the Democratic nominating contest on Friday by pointing out that her husband had not wrapped up the nomination until June 1992, adding, We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.
Her remarks were met with quick criticism from the campaign of Senator Barack Obama, and within hours of making them Mrs. Clinton expressed regret, saying, The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy, referring to the recent diagnosis of Senator Edward M. Kennedys brain tumor. She added, And I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive.
Still, the comments touched on one of the most sensitive aspects of the current presidential campaign concern for Mr. Obamas safety. And they come as Democrats have been talking increasingly of an Obama/Clinton ticket, with friends of the Clintons saying that Bill Clinton is musing about the possibility that the vice presidency might be his wifes best path to the presidency if she loses the nomination.

I view this as a calculated slip of the tongue designed to deflect blame when the Clinton machine actually does carry out the assassination of Barack Obama so that Hillary can claim the Democratic nomination laer this summer. If they can bring down Ron Brown's plane in Croatia, they can pull this off too.
Never underestimate the resourcefulness of the Clinton machine when power is at stake.

Not to defend the wicked witch of the left
I do think that her explanation as to what she meant is perfectly within reason.

Zakly! They are pissed at the Kennedys for endorsing O’Bambino, and with this “slip”, she, in a manner of speaking, kills two birds with one stone attacking both. Premeditated, no question.

Yep. She goes back forty years to use an assassination for comparison.
And then she uses a man’s brain tumor for her excuse.
I’m not surprised.

If I were Obama, I'd stay at home with the curtains closed on the 6th of June.

I had a post about this very thing but it disappeared. lol
I think she is angered at Sen. Kennedy for supporting Obama and she was directing this more at Teddy than Obama. Kennedy is on her mind but she did not say she was referring to his brain tumor.
The Clinton's never forget or forgive what anyone says or does against them.
You are right, a calculated statement by Hillary.

That dominated the news - while Marxine Waters slip of the tongue that let the liberal's Communist cat out of the bag with the threat of "Socializing" = ah, ooops, ah, um, "taking over" the Oil companies = get nary a mention - or if so, so short shrift, I missed it.
Which remark do you think was the most dangerous for America? I would think the threat of Nationalizing American businesses would have sent a collective (wrong word?) chill down everyone's spine. But it's being ignored. Why? Could it be because the media is in bed with them?
