Rush announced at the end of his show that Hillary had made an offer to drop out of the campaign this afternoon, if Obama would publicly offer her the VP slot, which she would then publicly refuse. The Obama campaign turned her down, saying that they didn’t trust her to say, NO.

I heard that on the way home. It was right at the end of the show with no following remarks. I guessed he must have just seen something cross online, or across the wires.

FROM A SOURCE IN PUERTO RICO, HEARD ON PUERTO RICAN RADIO ABOUT A HALF-HOUR AGO — OBAMA & HILLARY SCHEDULES FOR THEIR PLANNED TRIPS TO THE ISLAND:

Obama - Actually, gets into San Juan at Midnight tonight. Tomorrow will speak to the Vietnam Veterans of America Puerto Rico Chapter where he’s supposed to give a major speech on veterans’ affairs. Tomorrow has a music concert/rally in Plaza del Quinto Centenario in Old San Juan, followed by a walk of the Old City.

Hillary - Gets in tomorrow, Saturday. Will land at the old Ramey AFB in Aguadilla. Has rallies in Mayaguez, Cabo Rojo and Ponce over the weekend. Will come back to the island at the end of next week.
