Hillary Clinton is still in the presidential race, she said today, because "historically, it makes no sense" to quit, and added that, "Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June," making an odd comparison between the dead candidate and Barack Obama.

"People have been trying to push me out since Iowa," she said to the Argus Leader's editorial board.

Threadline makes it sound that way, but I think we're overreacting. Her point is that Kennedy was a contender late in the nominating process, so it is not a given that she must drop out.

I had the same reaction. It was an unwise remark, and may even have revealed some wishful thinking on her part, but I agree with your interpretation. That said, I wouldn't mind if her political career died a permanent death as a result!

What is ironic is that Hiliarly herself is holding the same Senatorial position (Junior Senator, New York) that RFK held when he was assassinated in '68.

If she had any sense at all, she wouldn't be tempting fate like this.
