SAN ANGELO, Texas - An underpinning of the state's case for taking hundreds of FLDS children into custody continued to weaken Tuesday as officials acknowledged four more women whose ages were disputed are adults - including one who is 27.
Thanks. I’ve been checking the El Dorado news. I’ll look at this one too. I wonder what made them want to look again though?
Well pissant, if you’re feeling froggy then by all means go jump into an FLDS thread and have the temerity to question the state on this one.
You emissary of Lucifer you!

Sheriff’s departments having such armor is freakin’ ridiculous....way past ridiculous.
What was Midland County thinking? Forming their own private army?
That is wrong. There were over 19 residences at the compound.
And some reports that are unconfirmed are that one dorm was for visiting families, like a hotel. If I was staying in a hotel with my family and in the room next door they were abusing a child, I'd hope that wouldn't give the CPS a reason to take my child.
And the local Church of God has a camp meeting facility here, where lots of families come and stay together during the summer, some in common dorms. I sure hope nobody thinks they should all be treated the same if there is an illegal activity going on there.
It’s not our wwbsite, it is some newbie’s since the other events.
I think more than pro CPS they are anti-Mormon church.
I hope this is not another thread defending the sicko people who were sexually abusing young girls.
Follow the law and deal with these sick people.
These pro polygamy threads make conservatives look like ignorant buffoons
I suspect that's why they took it with them.
They all lived at/in the exact same residence. The law requiered the children to be removed. If you dont like it see the Texas legislature.
There are separate houses.
I have no idea what prompted the visit today.....
From the article:
....
“We have received information about children who may be living at the YFZ Ranch,” CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner said, declining any comment beyond a short statement. “This morning, accompanied by law enforcement, we went to the ranch and made initial inquiries. We are conferring with law enforcement.”
....
The Eldorado Success or whatever they call their online paper has very little info on a daily basis.
THe F(lds) provided a single address ~ a single residence ~ the fact there are different buildings on the site doesn’t mean it’s not a single residence. Bill Gates, for example, has a number of different buildings at his homesite. He has, alas, but one address there.
They all lived at/in the exact same residence.
Not true. There are a number of different dwellings. In fact one monogamous couple, aged 24 and 22, who lived in a separate dwelling have had their young children taken from them. Why you ask? Because of their religion, plain and simple.
The law requiered the children to be removed. If you dont like it see the Texas legislature.
Wrong again. The CPS decision to treat an entire community as one dwelling, and their decision to remove children - the young boys - to protect them from being educated in a faith which would supposedly lead them to violate the law as adults are both without any support in the law. The proper venue for redress is the courts.
So much is happening right now. I wish we could discuss current events with this group instead.
Most highrises in any city have but a single address and their own internal mail delivery. Most colleges, dorms and govt facilities have a single address and internal mail delivery. Using the single residence argument is “really” weak.
Of the 460 children and 5 adults they treated as children, only a little more than 100 of them did not have clearly identified mothers. In other words, over 75% of the children had KNOWN mothers.
The story line that the CPS had no idea who any of the mothers were was not a true story. I don’t know if the CPS spread that one, or if it was just people here who didn’t know the facts.
I was trying to be kind. Once they post though it’s pretty good. There is a decent timeline of events there.
(There are several different CofG churches around ~ I am picky in how I deal with them ~ those with a COTFB link are no different than this F(lds) bunch.
They have but one address and all the mail goes in and out through a central authority.
Think "totalitarian" organizational characteristics and you'll figure it out in due course.
This was NOT a hotel!
I wouldn’t call it a gag order, but before the coliseum, they were all held in another location. Some of the mothers had cell phones and made calls reporting bad conditions, and sent pictures.
The state moved them to the coliseum and took away their cell phones. Some here defended that saying they had to cut the mothers off from the fathers who might be telling them what to say.
Of course, the mothers were not under arrest, or even charged with a crime. But as a condition of being allowed to stay with their children, they were required to turn in their cell phones.
The law in NM requires non-married cohabitating adults to be arrested, fined and jailed for up to a year on a first offense.
I guess you would advocate putting 40% of the population in jail for that as well.
