If I had anything to say about it: In order. 1. Mark Sanford
2. Mike Pence
3. Sarah Palin (experience an issue, but she's done more in 2 years than Obama in 4)
4. Tom Coburn
5. Someone outside Washington

Polarizing or not, he’s one of the sharpest conservatives in the business. That’s what makes him so polarizing. When the dems start howling about someone, it’s because they’re threatened by them.

That being said, Santorum and McCain would be a terrible pairing. He’s all wrong for Veep. I’d like to see him get out of Pennsylvania and revive his career in national politics elsewhere, maybe out west. He’s still very young and has a lot of years of service left to give. Santorum’s too smart for Pennsylvania voters. He needs to get out and start over.

Your expressions sum up my feelings exactly. One of the great failures of George W. Bush is to push Dick Cheney aside in 2004, and pick a bright young conservative to be the next presumptive nominee. At least his father tried with Dan Quayle.

My bet is that Juan will pick another boring white guy. But it would make heads spin if he picked a woman!

Possibly the only good thing about this is that it claws at the guts of the two party system. You’re going to have legions of sane democrats bolting their party to vote for McCain, while you have legions of conservatives boycotting, or at most weakly supporting Crazy John. I don’t see any way to predict what’s going to happen. I will probably be undecided until the moment I’m in the booth, and I doubt I’m alone.

Every morning I wake up knowing I need to support McCain for the good of the country, and by evening he’s opened his mouth and I’m doubting if I can vote for him again.

Romney is the only real choice. The others have not been tested, and are a gamble. Jindal may be nice, but he looks like a kid.

Crist is as loony a choice for VP as Obama is for POTUS.

Where have all the good men gone?

Like it or not, there is no other GOP candidate. I’m disgusted, but that’s how it is.

No, it isn't how it is. There are several, qualified GOP candidates. You know their names.

Just because the early, Republican nominating process was hijacked by northeastern liberals doesn't mean that conservatives are stuck with an little, old, angry, libreal for their standard bearer.

Conservatives should work hard during the next 5 months to defeat liberals in both parties, but should be especially vigilant that a liberal does not represent the GOP.

To give up on a republican process without a fight isn't very curageous or very conservative. Go back to the beadroom, look into the full length mirror and repeat: "I won't let a liberal like John Mccain lead my political party. We've sacraficed too much and come too far to give in to popular fads".

The only way I would ever vote for McCain is if he picked John Bolton for VP.

I’ve got nothing about gray hair (I’m getting there myself!), and I hate to have someone’s looks as a qualifier -—— BUT -— having two white-heads on the ticket just wouldn’t have an appeal, especially if the /dems will make age an issue.

Duncan Hunter endorsed an even bigger RINO than McCain in Huckabee.

I wouldn't call him a bigger RINO than McCain, but they are both pretty offensive and were the first two on my "I will never vote for" list, followed closely by your tagline namesake, who is simply McCain light.

Hunter lost all credibility when he did that. He's a loser.

Now that is sad! Trust me, I was not thrilled when he endorsed the Huckananny. I would have preferred he abstained from endorsing anyone. He couldn't endorse Romney due to that Bain/3-Com/Huwei deal, (that got shut down, btw) or your tagline guy since his only pupose was to oust the conservatives, Hunter/Tancredo/Brownback, he certainly would not have backed Rudy for a number of good reasons and probably thought backing Alan Keyes wouldn't pull enough votes to keep McCain from the nomination. The way I see it, Duncan Hunter called for the original Operation Chaos by endorsing the Huckananny hoping for a brokered convention, or at the very least allowing folks to have a choice instead of the primary ending before it began.

However, to negate 30 years of outstanding service to his country as an Army Ranger in Vietnam and a Congressman that actually did good things and wrote some good laws, laws that were passed which many in CONgre$$ have never done in 40 years, simply because he verbally endorsed some guy?!?!?!

Did he campaign for him? Did he make ads for him? Seriously...give him a break!

Charlie Crist would be a nightmare. RINO big time, but he has a way of fooling some conservatives.

A few of many reasons why I don’t like Charlie Crist in my next post.

Bobby Jindal would be a great choice, and seems to become more and more conservative as he matures. Bobby Jindal is very, very pro-life. btw, Rush Limbaugh likes Bobby Jindal among others.

You can tell Senator McCain how you feel:

John McCain 703-418-2008 and e-mail jpblack@mccain08hq.com and http://www.johnmccain.com/Contact/

I like Governor Bobby Jindal, Sen. John Thune, Governor Palin and Rob Portman for VP, and a few others.

Does anyone really believe he is bringing three VP possibles to his ranch for a weekend, at the same time? That would be very uncomfortable for all of them. What this tells me is none of them (nor any of the other guests) remain under consideration. It sounds like he is bringing a team together to talk about the fall campaign - strategy, etc.

Governor Charlie Crist is a RINO’s dream:

——> “Crist initially drew the ire of pro-life advocates when he voted against a 24 hour waiting period for abortions when he was a stat Senator. That action and his reluctance to take a clear pro-life stance in the gubernatorial election, prompted Florida Right to Life to endorse Gallagher in the September primary.”

http://www.lifenews.com/state1803.html

——> Crist is a tree-hugger:

“Offshore drilling separates hopefuls

Gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist opposes rigs within 125 miles of Florida’s coast, while Tom Gallagher supports the idea.”

http://www.sptimes.com/2005/11/07/State/Offshore_drilling_sep.shtml

MEANWHILE, Red China is drilling offshore of Florida.

——> Crist supports “Earned legalization” which is AMNESTY.

Now you know how we former Fredheads feel every time someone tries to tie him to McCain.
