I’ve greatly enjoyed several of Vidal’s books, including Lincoln, Julian and Creation. This doesn’t lend any credibility to his views on politics or society, however - the man is a drama queen.

At the risk of sounding alarmist or paranoid, I’m afraid we could see an outbreak of urban violence much worse than the Rodney King riots back in ‘92. I recall stories of whites being harrassed and beat up in a number of cities across the US.

At last count blacks make up around 11% of the population of the United States.

Well you're right about the QUEEN part..... and the drama...... Vidal is an interesting writer sometimes but as a far leftist who thinks too much with his genitalia his judgement cannot be trusted on anything. Certainly his political analyses and prognostications are most unreliable....... any thing that promotes buggery and/or anti-American radicalism meets with his approval. That's about it.

There aren't too many blacks around here. On the coasts the black populations are mostly in the big cities and that is going to be a big problem for them if they decide to get really stupid. All the Army would have to do is evacuate the whites and Latinos and then turn off the electricity, gas, water, and stop all food and fuel shipments. Their little uprising wouldn't last very long. We could sit a few miles away with all of these things and never raise a sweat.
You see us card carrying armed rednecks from the country control all of those things. Their water either runs to them in pipes or canals over our lands. The electricity goes to them via lines and towers that pass across our properties. They do not raise food in those cities either. There is no capability to pump and produce gasoline or natural gas within the cities either. If we just starve them and let them go dry for a couple of months we could just stay on a perimeter and pick them off as they tried to sneak out.
There is a different population distribution in the south but there are plenty enough old rednecks down that way to take care of things. Any organized uprising by the blacks in this country would effectively reduce their free population by half when it is all over. A big bunch of them would be dead and another huge bunch would be locked up in a prison camp out in the middle of some desert. Yep, a black armed uprising would really be a smart move for them.
