I heard Glenn Baeck say that China alone will use all the world oil, at currnet production levels, in 10 years.

I guess the one silver lining to all of this is that American oil isn’t going anywhere (at least that on our mainland). IF it all comes apart in a few years, and everyone else is tapped, at least we’ll have our supply. I just hope that our political will to use it isn’t completely gone and the Muslims have overrun us by then.

"I heard Glenn Beck say that China alone will use all the world oil, at current production levels, in 10 years."

If true, that would leave us in the catbird seat...wouldn't it?

I heard Glenn Baeck say that China alone will use all the world oil, at currnet production levels, in 10 years.

If that is what Glenn Beck really says, you should consider another source for your information.

China is using about 7.6 Million barrels per Day or 2.7 Billion barrels per year.

World Petroleum (Oil) Demand, 2003-2007
http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/ipsr/t24.xls

Proved Oil Reserves are at 1.33 Trillion Barrels. Note: Proved Reserves are not all know oil, but only oil in fields that can be recovered with today's technology and fields that have wells that have been flow tested. Much other oil is known that is not counted in these Proved Reserve.

World Proved Crude Oil Reserves, January 1, 1980 - January 1, 2008 Estimates
http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/international/iealf/crudeoilreserves.xls

It would take China 481 years to consume the world's proved reserves at their present rate.

You might also consider on the reserves history table how it grows on average every year AFTER supplying an increasingly larger global demand. That is because we normally add more oil to the reserves than we withdraw.
