My company issued me my computer and it's an IBM/Lenovo piece of $hit. About the shoddiest made machine I've ever had the displeasure of using.
Who made your television?
Japs.
I see. So you willingly work for a company that supports the "ChiComs" with their dollars. Can't find a job with a 100% America supporting company?
Japs.
I see. The Japanese ("Japs" went out in around 1945) made your TV. Do you know where the picture tube was actually made? Or the housing molded? I bet it was inside China. Willing to lay money on it - the best quality, highest efficiency picture tube lines exist inside China, and were set up by the Japanese and Koreans back in the mid/late 80s.
Oh, you don't have a picture tube, but a flat screen? Then you're certainly getting it from China. Find a flat screen manufacturer who does NOT build in China. I dare you.
Bro, I never said I was as pure as snow. I only said that I do my best not to buy Chinese crap and to let everyone know what a joke of a country China is. How this thread turned into this discussion is beyond me, so to get it back on track, McCain sucks, Ron Paul Rocks, vote for Barr.
Obama is truly dangerous, and his cult like followers are scary.
I want a younger, articulate, conservative Republican who loves the Constitution and capitalism.
I don't know where that person is however.
It started when you attacked me for quoting the Declaration of Independence, and claimed me to be a ChiCom shill. Now we know you’re as much of a hypocrite as you decry me of being. Yet I am honest about my positions and why I am doing it - I don’t hide behind some isolationists skirts with cries against a candidate.
So tell me why Ron Paul rocks. He’s got the same American Conservative Union rating as John McCain - they’re equally conservative.
Tell me why I should vote for Bob Barr, who’s a member and EMPLOYEE of the ACLU. How is that “conservative”?
You say no to McCain - tell me why you say yes to Paul or Barr.
I’m right there with you, but we have what we have this cycle.
As I posted a while back in this thread, the time for offense - to get your ideal candidate - is during the primaries. After that ends, you go on defense - making sure the elections that follow do as little damage to the ideals you hold up.
I’m shocked so many here don’t get it. Obama can do more PERMANENT damage in 4 years than 32 years of subsequent Republican Presidents can undo.
In the 40 years since LBJ’s Great Society, we’ve had Republican Presidents for 28, and even then for half of the remainder we have a Republican Congress (yes, for the anti-McCain forces here, in the last 40 years there has only been 6 where the Executive AND Legislative branches were jointly held by the Democrats). Yet we could not undo the Great Society.
Giving up, letting Obama or Hillary institute national healthcare is the worst thing that can happen. It will NEVER be undone. Ever. Once in, it won’t get removed. That is GUARANTEED to happen if McCain loses.
Offense in the primaries, defense afterwards!
Or think of FDR.
His move towards socialism was huge. Our country has suffered greatly from the greatly increased role of government that he started.
Excellent! Social security and medicare are disasters. Universal healthcare will be even worse. And we’re supposed to roll over and let it happen.
Perhaps I jumped the gun. I happen to be a member of the FR ChiCom troll Hunting Society, and I know all of the signs of a Chinese government agent trolling FR. I can tell that you do not fit into this category. That said, your past opinions on China cause me to discount your opinion on human rights. It's nothing personal, I'm sure you're a good guy in real life.
So tell me why Ron Paul rocks. Hes got the same American Conservative Union rating as John McCain - theyre equally conservative.
ACU ratings are not the end all and be all of conservatism. They don't count missed votes.
Tell me why I should vote for Bob Barr, whos a member and EMPLOYEE of the ACLU. How is that conservative?
Barr sides with the ACLU on issues of individual liberty such as opposing McCain's attempts at gutting the 1st Amendment. If he can infiltrate an otherwise lefty institution, I say all the power to him.
Can you point to any difference between David Souter and Ruth Ginsberg?
National healthcare collapsed when Clinton proposed it and had a Democratic congress. The president has much less power than the "if Democrats win, we're doomed" crowd leads one to believe.
This time, it's a central plank of the Democrats, and you can be that Obama or Hillary will waste ZERO time to get it passed.
And we won't even have a filibuster to use - the Donks will gladly wipe away that procedural limit as being a blocker. They will use the nuclear option, and ensure it goes through.
The way to stop creeping socialism is to never give it a chance to grow. Cut off the main taproot, and go after the smaller suckers. You don't focus on the suckers and let the taproot grow deeper and stronger.
Write in, 3rd Party, don't vote. Any of those 3 choices are imminently better than voting for a RATpublican. Blackbird.
I have often thought if people could just understand the time value of money concept, as it relates to investing; that we have a uprising and true change.
But sadly most just don't get it.
Yes, you jumped the gun, and if you're paranoid enough to believe there are Chinese government agents on FR you've got to loosen your tinfoil!
Most of those labeled "ChiCom trolls!" (of which I've been called - and a lot worse - dozens of times) are hard-working Americans who also do business in China. And we see daily the changes that are happening in China, and that while it has a LONG way to go to be close to the US it is MUCH better than where it was 15 years ago.
Rather than cutting off China and letting the current leaders keep oppressing their people (think North Korea), it's best to show their people AND their leaders there is a better way by living and working with them. Lead by example.
It's a strong, Biblical principle, and it works in politics as well.
You will do what you think is best. I will stand with Gen. Petraeus and our soldiers. I will cast a vote for the only candidate who supports Gen. Patraeus and the troops.
“I will cast a vote for the only candidate who supports Gen. Patraeus and the troops.”
Good on you. Didn’t address my post (at all) but I’d never try to tell you or anyone else how to vote.
Hey, I'm a libertarian. If people choose to make a buck by exploiting Chinese people for low wages and they can live with that on their conscience, I have no problem with it being legal to do so. However, there have been many people here on FR who deny any sort of human rights abuses by the Chinese governments and have been identified by the FR moderators as ChiCom government trolls. Are you denying that they do not have a significant Internet propaganda movement?
Fine. I’ll address your post. I disagree with your opinion regarding McCain and his reasons for voting against a bill that was flawed. I also disagree with your opinion regarding his involvement in the “gang of 14”. While I do not like Kennedy and other liberals like him, I also am a realist and understand that, in politics, one must from time to time work with the opposition instead of against them. Ronald Reagan did that on a number of occasions during his 8 years, and people didn’t seem to have the problem with that then as they seem to today. It seems to me that all the vitriol and bile that people are spewing forth on these issues are nothing more than sour grapes from people who don’t seem able to grasp how our system of government actually works. So, how’s that for addressing your comment?
It’s a wonderful thing to be an American. We can hold similar values, yet different opinions on specific issues. I am choosing to look at the forest in this election, and not having tunnel vision regarding just one tree. And you?
“I disagree with your opinion regarding McCain and his reasons for voting against a bill that was flawed.”
You are not disagreeing with my words, you are disagreeing with the man himself. Would you like a link?
