We have many Chinese people here in America.
including my niece Rachel who my brother, pigrigger, adopted from China 7 years ago. He ensures she Chinese ancestry/culture is remembered by her, and well spoken of. While she is of Chinese ancestry she certainly has taken to good 'ol American burgers/hot dogs and apple pie...she has become a typical American girl with a fine Chinese ancestry. She is a blessing to our family.
My prayers for the Chinese people during this time, human suffering is a condition that transcends politics....May God be with your country at this time.
As alluded to by never4get, I have a special connection to China....I had the privilege of traveling to China in 2001 to adopt my daughter Rachel (her Chinese name is Qian-Shuang).
I was blessed to be able travel through many parts of China, Beijing, Chouzhou, Hefei, and Guangzhou. At that time it was clear that China was emerging economically; capitalism and free enterprise was apparent everywhere.....the pace of change must be incredible to live through....
I would like to extend a thank you to you and your country for giving my family a gift that is priceless...and one that will be treasured forever...
Here's a picture of her (3rd from the left...brown shirt) and her adoption mates from Chouzhou...
