Already, such presumed HOF shoo-in's as McGwire and Clemens are being shunned by the voting committee (well, Clemens isn't eligible yet, but his turn will come), and Bonds can't find a job in MLB at all ...
The *people* have spoken, and they don't like what they see.
It isn't up to the government to enforce this, it'll winkle itself out in the free market ... the government has no business or right in being there, as MLB and its employees are not on the public payroll (via taxation).
Now, if the Feds wanted to do something *really* meaningful:
Drill ANWAR and offshore, authorize Nuclear plants to come online, as well as more refinery construction ... so that we don't have to pay $4+ per gallon just to go to the ballpark to see some HULK hitting a little round ball with a round bat .....
/rant #2 now off :)
You said it...
Leave it up to the balding middle age sportswriters in the Baseball Writers of America to decide what is cheating and performance enhancing and what is not:
Have any of these balding sportswriters ever:
A. Drank 5 cups of coffee to stay up and try to make a deadline
B. Taken Viagra to get it up
C. Drank a Budweiser to build up the nerve to talk to a pretty woman in a bar and then (see #5 above)
D. All of the above
As you can tell, I don’t like hypocrites. Politicians and sportswriters are hypocrites.
I even forgot to ask how many bloggers and holier than thou sportswriters just walked out of Hair Club for Men or use Rogaine.
This is purely an intellectual discussion. Bonds is a pompous ass and he should go to jail just for being one. There ought to be a law against pompous asses. I get amnesty.
