McCain picked a really bad time for a non vote - guaranteed to result in many thousands of same towards him.

I'm quite sure those thousands would have been regardless how he would have voted today. He voted against drilling in 2002 and 2005, so even if he had voted for it today it would have been seen, rightfully so, as pandering.

All I can do is pray that he gets a veep and staff that aren't afraid of making him realize the damage this is doing to the country, and that he's been duped.

The alternative....just isn't viable.
