I think the real danger is that China would wage war against one of several countries with which we have mutual defense treaties in the region, including South Korea, Japan and the Philippines, as well as countries with which we have good relations, including India, Vietnam and various Southeast Asian countries over territorial claims. The other problem with selling weapons to China has to do with China's unwillingness to abide by intellectual property agreements. We might find ourselves selling several aircraft to China and then finding out that they have built pirated copies in contravention of the sale agreements, much as China has done with Russian aircraft.
