However it is basically done only if the kidney is being replaced. It is easier to take care of diabetes thru medication than the problems that can come from a transplant.
I think it is rare for someone to get just a pancreas transplant.

I just had a Dr. tell me a few weeks ago that the meds you would have to take would be impossible to do.

What if someone has pancreatic cancer - has a transplant been done in this case?
I just don’t know.
My guess would be no. That is a fast acting cancer. The odds of finding a match would be limited. And I don’t know if they put transplant organs in people who have cancer.
