China Hit By Earthquake

An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale has hit China's Sichuan province. The tremor was felt across the entire region - shaking buildings in the capital, Beijing, as well as the Thai capital, Bangkok, and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. US Geological Survey said the quake struck 57 miles north-west of the city of Chengdu at 2.29pm local time (6.28am GMT).

Some 10 million people live in Chengdu.

A few months ago, my children and I kept replaying one video that had us all laughing for days! It was of a mother and baby panda. By the way, I know pandas are important to the Chinese people and I sure hope the ones out near the earthquake all survived.

Again, I pray for many miracles for all those trapped under the rubble. Maybe the rain that has been falling will provide those still trapped with some water to drink until they are found alive?

I wonder if the pandas can handle the stress of the earth moving so violently and so often. I have read that the big quake went on for 3 minutes straight and that there has been over 1,000 aftershocks since.

4 helicopters reconnaissanced Wenchuan but to be compelled to the heavy rains.

About an hour ago, hundreds paratroopers drop to Wenchuan high-powered in the rainy day, there’s no messege from them yet.
