An earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale has hit China's Sichuan province. The tremor was felt across the entire region - shaking buildings in the capital, Beijing, as well as the Thai capital, Bangkok, and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. US Geological Survey said the quake struck 57 miles north-west of the city of Chengdu at 2.29pm local time (6.28am GMT).
Some 10 million people live in Chengdu.
Phoebe, we are still praying for the quake victims.
Yeah, I have my own PC and can have access to the Internet in my dorm. And sincerely thanks for your pray, Joya...

Come around to FR more often and you will read a lot about our opinions of our national media. :)
How long has it been since anyone has been pulled out alive from the rubble? Any good news? And are you hearing anything in China about the possibility that there was an underground radioactive explosion?
The best news recently is that two miners were saved alive on June 1st, after being stranded for 20 days. Although badly wounded due to the quake, they are quite Ok now.
As for radioactive explosion, I think there is no need to worry about. It’s reported to have been successfully controlled. And the biggest problem in the near future would be flood.
That is incredible news!
I know. They said in an interview that they survived because of the three rainfalls and a bag of rice they pulled out in the rubbles.
Amazing story of survival. May the Lord bless them every day the rest of their lives.
Hi Phoebe,
I am still praying.
It’s good to hear from you.
I look forward to hearing from you again sometime.
