I think you’re right. About the only thing a McCain win gives us is four years to find a real conservative to run in 2012.
Assuming we still have a country, in four years whoever he picks for VP will have an enormous jump start as the GOP choice...
If he picks someone like himself or worse (hucklebee, fiorina, and whoever else has been floated that I can't remember now), it will make the job of getting a real conservative much more difficult and unlikely--especially if McCain is touted as a "winner".
If he picks someone like J.C. Watts, that changes the whole equation and I will force myself to vote for him. We still have some really good conservatives IF we can convince them to run for the big one (Inhofe, Sessions, DeMint, maybe Jindal).
Well, McCain can be a pain but he gives us four years of freedom from absolute socialists and racists.
I don’t think he will be a good president, but I don’t think he will do great harm to the country.
