1,000 cc engine displacement. I owned an Austin Healy Sprite roadster with about that engine size when I was young and stupid. It accelerated just fine, and with today's modern materials for lighter weight would have been a little rocket! I'd love to beef up the suspension and shoehorn one of today's small V-6s into it, but it went to Sprite heaven many years ago!
They were each in a Healy Sprite...the first one had San Francisco in big letters on the side, the second, or Bust. They drove tandem the whole way out there.
Those were fun days....
