The low point comes when children are between the ages of 12 and 16

I agree. Forget the terrible twos. That's nothing. It is the teen years that are hard. If we could only find a way to put them into a state of suspended animation during the teens.

One of my sons was a difficult teen, the other two were pretty easy. I actually find it more stressful now that they are off on their own and I don’t have quite as much input!

Maybe parenting teens is stressful, but it was great for our marriage. My wife and I were the only ones in the house who thought the other one wasn’t being unreasonable. Definitely us against the world in those days. Not that I want to relive those days, mind you. I like being a grandpa.
