Close call in Oklahoma for another Terri...

............................

NORMAN, Okla. Terri McHugh calls her husband Mike her hero.

That’s not surprising — because Mike saved the life of his 52-year-old wife one cold evening last December.

Terri told the riveting story last Thursday on the couple’s 27th wedding anniversary. Mike provided notes from his recollections in an e-mail he wrote in January detailing the events of that evening.

Mike and Terri were packing Dec. 21, 2007, for a long-awaited Christmas vacation and sat down for a dinner of hamburgers with his son David and David’s girlfriend Sheena, who were going to house-sit for them while they were traveling. Mike works for Halliburton and had been on-call for the past seven Christmases, so it was a highly anticipated vacation.

Suddenly, Sheena called out for Mike that something was wrong with Terri, in a voice that let everyone know that she wasn’t kidding.

Terri was leaning back in her chair as if she were looking at the ceiling, suddenly passed out cold...................

But she survived, with no brain damage. That was especially gratifying after she and Mike realized that sudden cardiac death was what caused Terri Schiavo’s brain damage. Schiavo’s case garnered national attention when her husband fought to have her life support terminated in 2005, after an extended court fight with her parents.

A second chance: Woman survives sudden cardiac death

California dreaming...

Thread by wagglebee on the latest perceived victory of death over life in that place once known as an American State.

SACRAMENTO, May 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An assisted-suicide bill that allows doctors and nurses to suggest death by unconscious dehydration has barely passed the California State Assembly.

AB 2747 would authorize total sedation without nutrition and hydration for depressed and confused patients, whether or not their natural death was imminent. The bill would also allow family members to order the death of a mentally disabled person when a nurse opines they have less than a year to live, similar to Terry Schindler Schiavo's death at the hands of her husband..........
