When you are assigning a monetary value to a human life as a measure of whether that person should be allowed to live or not, where do the “homeless” come in? Although the left loves to wax on about how much they “care” about the homeless, it seems to me that a strong argument can be made that those people are a drain on our resources.

This looks like a situation where two leftist “ideals” could be butting heads. I guess that’s a consequence of not living by any rational values.

It is so intrinsic to leftist thinking, a special term applies to them, cognitive dissonance. They have that ability to believe fervantly in two opposing and even mutually exclusive arguments. Yet with these two sitting side by side in their little brains some mysterious wall keeps them from gobbling each other up.

These days, it is defined as a tension or anxiety due to holding these beliefs, but I think it is their own modification of the term so it sounds better. From what I have seen they can hold some of the most outrageous beliefs this way and never feel a twinge of discomfort. You hit upon a good example.

Another is to promote the killing of baby humans while weeping over trying to save baby seals.
