Let Lauren Live!

It has been a source of ongoing sadness to read of the difficulties Lauren Richardson’s father has had over the course of the past several months. For those of you who are not familiar with her case, Lauren overdosed on heroin on August 28, 2006. She suffered oxygen deprivation and, as a result of the overdose, is now in a coma and unable to speak out for herself. At the time of the overdose, Lauren was expecting a baby. Her parents honored what they knew would have been her wish and did all they could to keep her healthy and comfortable until the child was born. Today, though Lauren may not be aware of it, she is the mother of Ember Grace, who was born in February 2007.

Since the birth of her daughter, Lauren remains unable to speak of her concerns, but she has a loving father who is doing all he can to protect her from suffering the same fate as Terri Schiavo. However, Lauren’s mother, who has been named her legal guardian, is sadly not of the same opinion and is working with attorneys to pressure the courts to permit Lauren’s starvation.

Lauren’s father has kept hope alive, even at times when there appeared to be no hope in human terms. Lauren’s father is a man of hope in Christ and is dedicated to spending every breath he has on defending Lauren, regardless of what it might cost him in physical exhaustion and worldly goods. The most recent update for those concerned about Lauren tells us the following:

Bobby Schindler, Terri Schiavo’s brother, has written about Lauren in an editorial earlier this year, "False Compassion," and is working closely with Lauren’s father in order to provide expertise that he is uniquely qualified to share during a trying time like this.

There are many links on the Life for Lauren web site that will assist you in tracking this case and learning who is supporting Lauren’s ongoing care and who is opposing it. More importantly, there is something you can do to express your concerns.

The governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner, is being asked by pro-life Americans across this nation to intervene in this case in order to save Lauren from what many fear is an imminent court order dictating that Lauren be starved and dehydrated to death. I am asking you to be one of those who communicates your passionate belief that Lauren’s life is sacred and deserves to be protected from those who would order her death. During a recent visit to Anchorage, Alaska where Bobby Schindler was invited to speak, he told a reporter from The Catholic Anchor, "Once we accept that killing is an acceptable answer to human suffering, we lose any type of parameters. Euthanasia is a form of abandonment. It is not compassion."

Truer words were never spoken. As I frequently tell people who argue that we pro-lifers are being heartless and cruel for fighting to defend the rights of a "hopeless case," "God is the author of every human being’s life, and He has never given permission to a single one of us to arbitrarily rob another human being of life for any reason including disability or illness."

As Flannery O’Connor once wrote on the subject of false compassion, "In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness. And tenderness leads to the gas chamber."

Lauren Richardson is not terminal – she is severely disabled. Lauren Richardson should not be murdered.

The following is not pleasant to view. No matter how the dealers in death fluff and churn their words to sound pleasant or at least undisturbing, their craft of death is ugly, whether for the littlest of humans to the oldest. Pro-choice sounds acceptable to many since it is not necessary to face the reality. Denial can kick in, shielding one from the ugly truth. The first is our littlest ones. Jill Stanek wrote a powerful story on it with a YouTube some may find disturbing. Well, they should! This is what the death dealers are pushing down our throats and by huge numbers we swallow it with our shields of denial in place.

Breaking news: Another MI abortionist trashes babies in dumpster

I think I've been away from the OR too long, because the video I just watched of what pro-lifers retrieved from the dumpster at the Women's Advisory Center abortion mill in Livonia, MI, made me queasy....

Monica Miller warned me the video was NC-17 rated. Seeing baby skulls and body parts and so much blood in the same trash as McDonald's and Olive Garden wrappers just got to me.

Citizens for a Pro-Life Society has posted this story on its website but hasn't yet released it to the press.

In April MI pro-lifers returned to search dumpsters at Alberto Hodari's infamous abortion mills to see if he had relapsed and begun throwing babies he had aborted into the trash (which he had not).

They thought while they were at it they'd check the dumpster at WAC and came up with a mother un-lode of aborted babies, many medical records, urine cups with names on them, unused syringes, sharps, and blood everywhere.

WAC is owned by abortionist Reginald Sharpe. He bought it from abortionist Rodolfo Finkelstein (recipient of my first annual abortionist of the year award) in 2005 before Finkelstein fled the country after being convicted of sexual assault of several patients.

In fact, Finkelstein started a late-term laminaria abortion on a mother the day before he fled in March 2005, leaving it for Sharpe to finish. That day Sharpe left the mill while the mother was laboring, and she screamed so loudly her mother in the waiting room called 911. Paramedics arrived and found she had just delivered a 28-week dead baby but was in acute medical trouble, so they rushed her by ambulance to the hospital.

For that WAC job Sharpe was alerted on April 3, 2005, that his license was being suspended for 9 months for committing illegal late-term abortions. 2 days later his clinic burned down for unknown reasons. His license was restored in August 2006, just in time to begin aborting in a new building. Sharpe owns 3 mills.

The MI Department of Environmental Quality conducted its own search of Sharpe's dumpster after pro-lifers alerted it and confirmed finding what they found. But like it did Hodari, DEQ has merely given Sharpe a warning, "less than a slap on the hand," said Monica. "They're basically saying, 'Don't do it again, and we'll be back on this date to check you.'"

So that is how they deal with the little kids. Now, how do they deal with the adults who are candidates for their machine? As we know, no judicial system in America would allow such a cruel and unusual killing as dehydration. It is painful, ugly, and takes a longer time, up to two weeks of suffering. Can we imagine how awful it would be to treat a dog that way? Dehydration, glorified as "euphoric" by the masters of the death craft doesn't look so happy to me.

The picture is of Lisa McPherson who died of dehydration, the same procedure used to kill Terri Schiavo, also in the same area of Clearwater. This fate is what would happen to Lauren Richardson. Lisa and Terri were very attractive ladies before their fate as was Lauren who now faces this hideous death if the State of Delaware sees fit.

In this thread by John Semmens, we see the amazing contrast. If courts like in Pinellas Park, Florida, can condemn an innocent to execution by agonizing dehydration for the sin of not being worthy of life to them, how would the same system dare to condemn the worst of the serial killers to such an inhumane slaughter? Where is the ALCU on this? Thanks to TheSarce for the ping. Recall, the condemned innocents do not get a single drop of moisture or nourishment on their lips in the up to two weeks it takes them to die!

A man awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing Benton County, Arkansas, complaining that the “skimpy rations” he has been fed in the county jail caused him to lose more than 100 pounds during eight months in jail.

“I used to be a sturdy 400-plus pounds,” Laswell boasted. “Now, I’m practically skin and bones. It’s cruel and unusual punishment.”

Laswell is being assisted in his suit by the ACLU. “This is but another sorry example of the pattern of torture and abuse that has overtaken the U.S. penal system under the Bush Administration,” said ACLU spokesman, Bertram Petty. “Starving prisoners is the kind of thing you expect in a Nazi concentration camp, not in America. It’s a clear a violation of the 5th Amendment.”.....
