LAUREN RICHARDSON - YOU CAN HELP!
By Judie Brown

It has been a source of ongoing sadness to read of the difficulties Lauren Richardson’s father has had over the course of the past several months. For those of you who are not familiar with her case, Lauren overdosed on heroin on August 28, 2006. She suffered oxygen deprivation and, as a result of the overdose, is now in a coma and unable to speak out for herself. At the time of the overdose, Lauren was expecting a baby. Her parents honored what they knew would have been her wish and did all they could to keep her healthy and comfortable until the child was born. Today, though Lauren may not be aware of it, she is the mother of Ember Grace, who was born in February 2007.

Since the birth of her daughter, Lauren remains unable to speak of her concerns, but she has a loving father who is doing all he can to protect her from suffering the same fate as Terri Schiavo. However, Lauren’s mother, who has been named her legal guardian, is sadly not of the same opinion and is working with attorneys to pressure the courts to permit Lauren’s starvation.

Lauren’s father has kept hope alive, even at times when there appeared to be no hope in human terms. Lauren’s father is a man of hope in Christ and is dedicated to spending every breath he has on defending Lauren, regardless of what it might cost him in physical exhaustion and worldly goods. The most recent update for those concerned about Lauren tells us the following:

We struggle at times as we seek to share with the public the details of what is happening with Lauren because of the disagreement we have with Lauren’s mother. We cannot understand her reasoning in refusing a path of hope, healing and restoration for Lauren and insisting on causing her death by withholding food and water from her. The issue in Lauren’s case is the eternal truth that all people, no matter what their medical condition, bear the image of God and deserve basic care and an opportunity to be restored to health.

Bobby Schindler, Terri Schiavo’s brother, has written about Lauren in an editorial earlier this year, "False Compassion," and is working closely with Lauren’s father in order to provide expertise that he is uniquely qualified to share during a trying time like this.

There are many links on the Life for Lauren web site that will assist you in tracking this case and learning who is supporting Lauren’s ongoing care and who is opposing it. More importantly, there is something you can do to express your concerns.

ACTION NEEDED NOW

The governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner, is being asked by pro-life Americans across this nation to intervene in this case in order to save Lauren from what many fear is an imminent court order dictating that Lauren be starved and dehydrated to death. I am asking you to be one of those who communicates your passionate belief that Lauren’s life is sacred and deserves to be protected from those who would order her death. The governor’s e-mail address is governor.minner@state.de.us.

Further, it would mean a great deal to Lauren’s father, Randy, if you sent him a copy of your e-mail to Governor Ruth Ann Minner. Randy’s e-mail address is Lifeforlauren@aol.com

During a recent visit to Anchorage, Alaska where Bobby Schindler was invited to speak, he told a reporter from The Catholic Anchor, "Once we accept that killing is an acceptable answer to human suffering, we lose any type of parameters. Euthanasia is a form of abandonment. It is not compassion."

Truer words were never spoken. As I frequently tell people who argue that we pro-lifers are being heartless and cruel for fighting to defend the rights of a "hopeless case," "God is the author of every human being’s life, and He has never given permission to a single one of us to arbitrarily rob another human being of life for any reason including disability or illness."

As Flannery O’Connor once wrote on the subject of false compassion, "In the absence of faith, we govern by tenderness. And tenderness leads to the gas chamber."

Lauren Richardson is not terminal – she is severely disabled. Lauren Richardson should not be murdered.

Fascinating thread by DallasBiff. Thanks, narses.

..........."Fortunately, Bristol is following her mother and father's example of choosing life in the midst of a difficult situation," Family Research Council president Tony Perkins said. "We are committed to praying for Bristol and her husband-to-be and the entire Palin family as they walk through a very private matter in the eyes of the public."

Evangelical leader Richard Land also backed Palin completely.

"This is the pro-life choice. The fact that people will criticize her for this shows the astounding extent to which the secular critics of the pro-life movement just don't get it," Land said in a statement.

This is very good. Only one suggested improvement.

I am sick to death of seeing Obama’s face. Do we have to print it here too. How about a boycott on his face? The banner would be so much better with a large picture of Sarah’s face!

You have an ally with me on that score. I would much rather see her face than that of the Obamunist at any time at all.

Karen Weber update...

I can only excerpt from the Toledo Blade. Link includes a video.

.....Today, Mrs. Tatro-Manes plans to be in a Florida courtroom in an effort to help their mother, Toledo Municipal Court retiree Martha Tatro, be named permanent guardian of Ms. Weber - as they try to preserve her life after a partially paralyzing stroke in December.

In a legal battle reminiscent of Terri Schiavo's, Martha Tatro of Okeechobee, Fla., is fighting efforts by her son-in-law, Raymond Weber, to stop using Ms. Weber's feeding tube. Ms. Schiavo's feeding tube was removed against the wishes of her parents before she died in 2005, 15 years after her heart stopped and she was left in a persistent vegetative state.........................

Well, here it is, as we hoped...

................................

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Republican Party on Monday approved a new platform that contains the same Human Life Amendment the GOP has advocated for years enshrining legal protection for unborn children in the nation’s Constitution. The platform also lauds the work of crisis pregnancy centers and their efforts to provide pregnant women with tangible help and resources.

Early Monday afternoon, LifeNews.com had exclusive access as the Republican Party’s platform committee approved the final draft of the platform with little fanfare and no opposition.

After the platform committee meeting, the thousands of delegates gathered in Minnesota for the national convention signed off on the platform to a standing ovation of applause.

~Snip~

"Every effort should be made to work with women considering abortion to enable and empower them to choose life," it goes on to say

.The GOP platform also includes calls to oppose euthanasia and protect people with disabilities like Terri Schiavo.

"Respect for life requires efforts to include persons with disabilities in education, employment, the justice system, and civic participation," it says.

Watching Watching the Watchers....

In the boringly familiar pattern of the left projecting their own traits, they call those who cheer for good the dark ones.

...............................

Now the truth slowly leaks out: Gov Palin's nod to become McSame's VP candidate comes not out of the blue...

But from the dark side......!Tips of the cap, yes, to our dear friends all around for this hot little item about who really wanted Gov. Palin in the slot!

Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC's spectacle in Denver, the country's most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy.

CNP members have included Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Grover Norquist, Tim LaHaye and Paul Weyrich. At a secret 2000 meeting of the CNP, George W. Bush promised to nominate only pro-life judges; in 2004, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told the group, "The destiny of the nation is on the shoulders of the conservative movement." This year, thanks to Sarah Palin's selection, the movement may have finally aligned itself behind the campaign of John McCain.

And do these names ring with any familiarity? Can we say The Religious Right? America's very own Dark Lords Of The Sith???

Sure we can.

Who's Really Running The GOP? The Sith, Obviously

And in contrast to Sarah Palin, as black is to white, we have this from across the pond, in a thread by wagglebee.

.........................................

LONDON, September 2, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com ) - Marie Stopes, the notorious early 20th century contraception campaigner, eugenicist and anti-Semite, did for Britain what Margaret Sanger did for the US:  preached the doctrines of eugenics and promoted contraception and sterilisation to achieve "racial hygiene." So successful was she at altering British society in favour of her eugenics doctrines, the British government has chosen her to be included in a "Women of Distinction" line of stamps.

The Royal Mail announced this weekend that the face of Marie Stopes, who advocated the sterilisation of poor women to promote the "welfare of the race", will feature on the 50p stamp. The stamps will be available beginning 14 October 2008.

Columnist Gerald Warner wrote on his weblog at the Daily Telegraph, "Considering the hysteria nowadays attaching to issues of race, at first sight it seems extraordinary that Stopes should have earned commemoration on a stamp."

"To the [politically correct] establishment, however, even racist peccadilloes can be ignored to honour a pioneer who helped promote the anti-life culture and relieve women of the intolerable trauma of giving birth to a child with a cleft palate."..............

No surprise on the attacks, but it sure wraps the lefties around the axle of their own twisting logic...

Thread by wagglebee.

..................................

..........But I don't think you have to have any more qualifications than to be a human being to be enraged at the guttersnipe attacks on pro-life Sen. John McCain's choice as his vice president, Gov. Palin's 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, and even Sarah Palin's four-month-old son, Trig!

On the off-off chance that you may have missed it, Gov. Palin's daughter Bristol is five months pregnant. According to a statement issued by the Palin family, Bristol intends to marry the baby's father.

The statement they issued captured both the challenges any young couple will face in such a situation and the promise of help from Palin and her husband, Todd.

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned," they wrote. "We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents."...............

In this contrast as well, Sarah Palin gleams. Thread by wagglebee.

......But there was a problem. Even though Geraldine was Catholic like me and Italian like me, she was also pro-abortion.

At the time, I really didn’t understand what impact a Vice-President or President could have on abortion. I was very naпve, and thought that the key to resolving the abortion issue was nowhere to be found in politics. I ended up having a heated debate with my aunt over the issue of Ferraro’s support of abortion, which caused my aunt to run crying from the room..........

Gary Bauer writes for Human Events on the latest attack on Sarah Palin by the banshees of the far left media.

...........................................

.................US Weekly magazine’s cover this week will have a photo of Gov. Palin with her youngest son, Trig, along with this gem of a feature title: “Babies, Lies and Scandal:  John McCain’s Vice President.”

Over the past three days, I have had scores of reporters approach me leveling charges of hypocrisy. They can barely contain their glee as they say things like, “This goes against everything you pro-family, pro-life conservatives believe!”

Actually, it does not. None of us claim to be perfect.  But the Palins’ situation is exactly what the pro-life cause is about -- helping mothers bring their babies into the world with love and support.  We in the pro-life movement celebrate the value, potential and greatness of all human life.  Barack Obama’s own story began with a teenage mother who married the father of her son, who has become the historic presidential nominee of his party.

Perhaps the wildest media accusation is that Bristol Palin’s pregnancy is proof that abstinence education doesn’t work. But for years we have distributed condoms and birth control pills to our children like candy, and some of the schools with the most “comprehensive” educational approaches have some of the highest pregnancy rates.

But charges of hypocrisy are leveled partly because they help distract the electorate from the stark differences between how the two tickets have approached fundamental issues of life and death.  Barack Obama has said that the question of when human rights begin is “above my pay grade” and has never voted to limit or restrict abortions. He has said voting for legislation allowing Terri Schiavo's family to take its case from state courts to federal courts in an effort to stop her euthanasia was his "biggest mistake" in the Senate.  And he has said that while he tries to teach the right values to his daughters, he doesn’t want them “punished with a baby.” ..........

Who’s Off Limits?

Exactly!

The Palins have, in just the past year, been faced with a Downs baby and an unplanned teenage pregnancy. Lots of pro-lifers can talk about what is the right thing to do, but very few are every actually in these positions.

While Obama speaks in satanic platitudes about "punishment," the Palins lovingly accept God's will because they understand that EVERY child is a gift from God.

In the world of contrast of white versus black, good versus evil, we fight for good against evil and find our adversary armed with lies and mirror opposites, time and again,as a principal weapon. The evil ones call good bad and call bad good. Here is a classic with even the name of the site ringing that same dichotomy, Real Clear Politics.

I suspect they don't even realize how malicious and foolish they sound in such rabid attack. I may only exerpt from that site.

.......................................

What a McCain presidency now promises is another four years of Terri Schiavo and other artifacts of the cultural right. You remember Schiavo's husband having to fight the Bush administration and Republican Congress to remove his wife -- in a vegetative state for 15 years -- from life support. It's four more years of national humiliation as our leadership undermines the teaching of evolutionary science, and if something happens to John McCain, opposes stem-cell research.

One tries to untangle McCain's political calculations. The Schiavo case, creationism and similar excesses appeal to a passionate but small slice of the electorate. They are one reason voters are booting Republicans out of power. So while some religious conservatives may be "energized" by the Palin pick, most everyone else is revolted......

Ah.. Capitalism... Capitalism Magazine: Sounds so nice and conservative, no? Not always...

But the far left from Karl Marx to present also have had their way with this word we may cherish as our own. Check this out.

..............................

Finally, Amendment 48 would ban all abortion, except perhaps in cases of extreme risk to the mother's life. As a result, the measure would cause permanent injury or death to some at-risk women. It would also force a woman to bring any pregnancy to term, regardless of her judgment about her best course in life.

~Snip~

By defining a fertilized egg as a person, Amendment 48 would outlaw abortion for pregnancies resulting from rape and incest. Whether the fertilized egg was created in an act of consensual love or brutal force would not impact its legal rights. Without the morning-after pill to protect themselves from pregnancy, brutalized girls and women might be forced to endure an inescapable reminder of their attack for nine months thereafter, if not longer. Indeed, Colorado Right to Life asked candidates whether they "agree that abortion is always wrong, even when the baby’s father is a criminal (a rapist)." Seventeen Republican candidates answered yes.34

Would abortion be permitted to protect the life and health of the pregnant woman under Amendment 48? The answer is unclear...................

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Weeks ago, pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack Obama infamously said the question of when human life begins is “above my pay grade” as a seeker of the White House. Judging from Obama’s evasive answer on the question of assisted suicide, it appears euthanasia was above his pay grade as well.In a March interview with the Mail Tribune, Obama wouldn’t give a clear answer about whether he supports assisted suicide or Oregon’s first-in-the-nation decision to legalize the grisly practice.

“I am in favor of palliative medicine in circumstances where someone is terminally ill,” he said. “… I'm mindful of the legitimate interests of states to prevent a slide from palliative treatments into euthanasia.”

At the same time, Obama appeared to praise Oregon for legalizing assisted suicide without expressly saying he supports the decision..............

Evidence they just don't get it...

They have succeeded in pushing the bitter pill of abortion and killing innocents by wrapping it in so much sweeteners, and with so much fog, the thinly informed swallowed it, like Kool-Aid. Perhaps the lefties are lulled into really believing the greater population actually lusts for blood as they do. It may come as a surprise.

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 3, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Obama campaign threw their vehemently pro-abortion stance into relief by investing in radio ads attacking pro-life Sen. McCain for threatening to take away women's "right to choose."

The ads feature the voice of a "nurse-practitioner with Planned Parenthood" warning her listeners that McCain will seek to have Roe v. Wade overturned and ban abortion.

"I know abortion is one of most difficult decisions a woman will ever make," says the woman's voice. "Let me tell you - if Roe v Wade is overturned, the lives and health of women will be put at risk. That's why this election is so important. John McCain's out of touch with women today. McCain wants to take away our right to choose."........
