Just one more thing to note...from the local reports...the dog would have responded to the ‘stand down’ command. He would not have mauled Jackson. He was in a ‘disarm’ move.
It’s a really sad story regarding the dog. It’s quite possible that the dog was caught in crossfire. Until they retrieve the bullets, they won’t really know who shot the dog.
Jackson is dead because he was stupid, Aulf is dead because he heroically did his job as a police dog.
