[... Cant wait for this insanity to pop up here in the USA...]
It’s already here.
Last year, while building our home in the Pacific
Northwest, it became necessary to call an arborist
regarding a sick and deadly maple on our property.
When it was determined that the tree should go, the
arborist said he could “euthenize” the tree for $1500
then added how unfortunate it was that the tree would
have to “pass on”. Then, silly me, I said, “of course
it was unfortunate, but afterall people ARE more
important than trees”. (Crickets)
Flippin’ moonbat! Wonder if he mows his grass. Next
thing it will be a crime to cut our own hair and nails.
GENESIS 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
GENESIS 2:15
God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it...

The Swiss Federal Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology says that humans cannot claim "absolute ownership" over plants; that "individual plants have an inherent worth..."
Oh, great! First robots and zombies--now plants! I suppose we'll have to accept their constitutions, treaties, peace accords, and what have you. Before you know it, politicians will be pandering to so-called Cucurbitan-Americans and the like; perennials will have their own annual holidays; and the term 'pansy' will become doubly offensive.
Maybe that old tale about carrots screaming when plucked from the ground is true after all. I wonder what sound a pumpkin makes--
